The Call Came!

August 23 - We were sure we would receive our call today but NO it didn't come!!!!  We left for Canada for Bobbi's wedding.  Fri. nite we received a text from Rusty saying "IT'S HERE"!!  We told our kids to gather together and conference in Randy & Ryan and us. We could only get phone service at Carol's (up on the hill)

 

How exciting to hear Robyn read that we would be serving at the Polynesian Culture Center in Oahu, Hawaii!!!  And......that we would leave Sept. 17.  Only 3 weeks

One phone for us in Canada, one for Randy and Stacey and family in Sprinville, UT, one phone Ryan and Angie!

We cannot write on paper the feelings we experienced, knowing we would soon be wearing a "black name tag" and really serving a mission.

We're learning Extreme Patience as we wait for this call.  Our papers were submitted to Salt Lake Church Headquarters on July 15.  Three weeks later we received an email advising us to retake our picture. Gary's photogrey glasses were too dark and that BLACK mustache needed to be removed. We also needed to commit to more $  per month $3,050) if we were to be considered to serve in Hawaii.
